Budget Stroker...is it possible?
My 302 has the basic bolt-ons on it as of now. I would like to try and start compiling a list of the things I would need to have a competitive, streetable motor that requires not much more than basic maintainence to keep it going. The car is an '89 GT, with a T-5 (for now). The plan is to stay with having the car being a stick.
Im looking mostly for N/A idea, with the POSSIBILITY of at most a 125 shot of spray.
I have heard ideas of 331s and 347s. I would eventually like to do a big block build, but I love high rshared_pm screaming small blocks.
I would like to keep this under $2-3k, not sure if its possible, but would definately like to give it a shot.
Part numbers, places to get them, and any other ideas would be great. Id like to have 'that badass car' here on base. You'd be supporting your country by helping an AF member

1) Take your 2-3k and sell the car you have.
2) Save a few more grand.
3) Combine money and buy a car already built.

I understand the not cheap parts. Ive had lots of cars, and understand what to and to not spend money on. I was just trying to get an idea of if anybody has done it, and how they have done it.
I would like to start from the ground up, because I want every single nut and bolt to be documented, and not have a mystery motor.
Shaun, I got your shared_pm. Once I get an idea of exactly what I want, ill give you a call.
Feel free to shoot around some more ideas, fellas. Thanks again.

Big block on the other hand, dont take a lot to build a very respectable motor. Early heads, some compression, intake, a good carb, and a hydralic roller and 400-500hp would be on tap. Then to make the car "work", plan on everything changed in the suspension
Or-
Go to the AAFES car sales. Obtain financing. Pick color and options. Take money and put it down on new 2010 GT Mustang. This new car will redefine mustang performance and you would be on the tip of the spear.
Anybody driving an old fox body will look at your car with envy. Everyone on base will say... There is one of those new bad ass 5.0's
I'm thinking about selling my cars to get a new 5.0
