with the key in the ignition, turned to the on position. leave the sensor plugged in. You need to peirce the wires insulation with your volt meters pins. black is ground, green is positive. you should read somewhere close .98 volts.
If not, you need to loosen the screws and move the TPS until you are close to .98 volts and retighten.
Now, SLOWLY open the throttlebody blade and watch the voltmeter. It should slowly and smoothly rise until you hit WOT where it will read roughly 4.5 volts. If at ANY point the rise in volts drops out or jumps up and down you have dead spot in the TPS and need a new one.
