Tazers are to disable you. Police officers weapon with real ammo is to defend and protect.
Edit: Man in Black. Just to give you a heads up on the training I went through and the training I went through with the Law Enforcement in my unit....
Tazers are most likely to be used to disable you, To keep you under control, If you are being disrupted (bad sp??) to stop you.
An Officers weapon will be drawn 90% of the time if you have a deadly weapon...
A deadly weapon can be anything from a, Knife, Ice pick, Shovel, Bat, Chain, Chain Saw, vehicle ..... ect ect...
Some deputies that I have seen through real life video brought their tazers out for some1 with rope, shoe, Shoe lace, Rug, Chair, Brushes..... etc.. etc..
