Default 2011 "Coyote" 5.0 - Autoweek

2011 Ford Mustang: Five-Point-Oh is now 412 hp

Supposedly this new engine will only weigh a smidge more than a LS1 and has the following: Aluminum block, iron cylinders, DOHC 4valves/cyl, variable valve timing on both intake/exhaust. It makes 412hp and 390lbft of tq. Oh and the rev limit has been raised .

Glad I didn't cave in and get a GT500 now, because the way things are shaping the new GT is going to be a performance bargain.

For all the people on the import side of the pond; this new engine makes 83hp per liter (which is better than what nissan can make from the same 5.0L of displacement out of their VK50VE which is only available in a $50k+ luxury car as well as better than what BMW made with the old M5 v. The domestic inefficiency argument as well as "lack of technology" is now a thing of the past, anyway read the article for more info.
