^^^ True. A stock block is sufficient for the HP he is aiming for. But, he will need a good turn, and he'll need to keep the RPM in a reasonable range or the engine will turn into an artificial reef candidate. I've run stock blocks at that hp range for years an have yet to break one.
But, as O'Toole says, the temptation to squeeze just a few more hp out of it and let it scream, especially on a cold day, is fatal to a stock block.
