If it's from the manufacturer more power to you. I bought my T1i w/18-55 as a refurb. It was almost $80cheaper and I swear the camera is nicer than a new one haha. Not a single scratch anywhere and it's been tested more than a new one like Tim said. I actually plan on buying refurb's from now on lol.
My 40D was a refurb and that saved me about $200 at Adorama. It was worth buying refurb'd then lol
Check with your flash on what the length of your TTL is. I know my flash will only reach about 100-110mm so anything after that, it doesn't light anything up that much.
