No it does not go away when I push the clutch in or out, atleast the times that I did it, it just got a little quieter. If I throw it in neutral and let it coast though, the noise is quieter than if lets say I had it in 5th and cruising.
After I drain the fluid this weekend, I'll get my video camera and record the noises it's making.
Could a bad rear diff also send noises to the tranny? I mean it is directly connected to it through the drive shaft.
Oh and I put pressure on the lever while in gear and I did not getting any change in noise that I could tell.
