____!!Cable to hydro conversion!!_____
K.J. and I just completed a swap, it was a 99' B16 into an 89' civic SI. The real news is we were able to keep the 99' hydro tranny. Hassport Has just released a new mount and adaptor bracket kit. This kit enables the use of newer B series hydro trannys in older clutch cable operated cars. It includes a upper tranny mount designed to fit the newer tranny, as well as, a system of levers and brackets that bolt to the tranny and MATE TO THE CLUTCH CABLE. Everything is billet aluminum and looks sweet! I have heard of other system, but often get less than par reviews on drive-ability and engagement.
I only got a chance to test drive the car for a few momments so I can't give you the most thuro test summary, I can however tell you this. The clutch pedal was not hard to engage, which has often been the complaint in older systems. It was a little on the sluggish side (compared to a stock honda system). At first the pedal took some getting use to, but after a few minutes it did not feel so foreign. I believe any loss in pedal feel would make most of an impact in the more touchy road race situations. I Also think that overall it is worth the trade of getting to pick your newer tranny including ITR's. As a whole it is a complete success. JAM!
