IF you dont want to click the link, its the full weight of an SR20DET and a CA18DET with transmission and accessorys.
SR20DET @ 216.5Kg or 476.3 lbs
CA18DET @ 227.5Kg or 500.5 lbs
You've got the LS1 listed using chevys page at 497, so at my blocks 60 lb weight, im at 547 lbs, now if you've got a brain and take into account 75 lbs + of the LS1/T56's extra weight is in the transmission, and realize this weight is low and in the center of the car, and the SR car is generally running a 20 lb or so intercooler stuck in the nose of the car. The 75 extra lbs i've got over an SR car isnt exactly going to cause the negative handling tim is hoping for, and that doesnt even take into account the weight loss of going from cast iron manifolds on the LS1 to headers.
Sorry buddy, you've again proven that you fail to prove a valid point, or at the very least fail to read what was stated originally, as I never stated that my car was going to be lighter than a SR20 car, I said the handling isnt going to be something awful as tim is figuring on.
Actually the picture of the ls1 numbers is a vette motor, no trans. Seeing as the transaxle weighs a shit ton.
But I was just copying text from another debate
And I know what your saying, I love ls1s. I drove a ls1 fc, after owning 4 rotary fcs myself. It was like there wasn't a change in the front, well not big enough to make a huge difference.
It would dig into the corner with the front a little more, but steering out of the corner was easier.
