The reason for NA306Stang asking about the trans, is that year of Mustang didn't COME with an AODE, and it doesn't have the computer to RUN an AODE. Trust me, he KNOWS an AODE is a transmission. LOL He's just mystified (as am I) as to what the heck it would be doing in such an old vehicle. I think the AODE first made an appearance in the Mustang in 1989 or possibly 1990. But I could be off by a year or two.

Did you try replacing the distributor module?



Oh, and you're right, if it were your chevy, it wouldn't be giving you these problems. It would be giving you far WORSE problems.
