Test with a volt/ohm meter, or an LED style test probe to protect your electronics.
If bad coil, put on one that you know is good. Swapping one wire at a time.
Maybe get a spare from a junk yard and test them both.
Plastic bag the spare, label it and keep it on the shelf...-Bob
