Hydro Shield won't protect you from submerging your filter which is the big problem concerning CAI. If you drive through a puddle that is deeper than it looks, and your filter goes underwater, you are SOL.

The only thing that will protect you in that situation is one of these.



AEM intake bypass filter. You insert this as a coupler at some point in your intake system, and if the filter goes underwater, this will allow you to suck air from the top of the engine bay and prevent a hydrolock.
