HEY!
I resemble that remark!
I laugh at the cars with giant wings, body kits, etc... but unnoticed, I quietly laugh to myself.
I know that the kid behind the wheel is proud of the time, money, and effort they put into their car. Be it a Neon, Civic, Sentra, or whatever.
Same goes for ANY front wheel drive car at the dragstrip. It's not my bag. In fact, I think...no, I know they're fighting a losing battle. The car is limited, (weight x-fer, halfshafts, TRACTION!, driveability), and always will be. I know there are single digit front wheel drivers out there, but they are essentially six-wheeled vehicles.
Regardless, I respect their effort and I would lend them a hand anytime.
We were all kids at one time. I can remember my Dad shaking his head at me when I would have money burning a hole in my pocket so bad that I just had to put a bigger stereo in my car...or buy the latest greatest trendiest whatever that just came out that week.
Rice is a fad. It will pass, but there will be something to take it's place.
It's like vanning in the late 70's-early 80's.
Or pro-street in the 80's-90's.
Or pro touring in the late 90's to now.
People altering their means of transportation in order to stand out, go faster, impress girls, one up the next guy, etc. wll never end.
Those old schoolers that cannot face it need to grow up.
