I open one side of the hog rings into a bigger "C", then close them
when needed, with ordinary pliers on the ends of the rings.
Hog rings can sometimes be made from coathangers if the wire is
thick enough.-Bob

I want to remove the flaps under my seat so the pan is more exposed to clean it up, it has light surface rust like most seats and the flaps are held snug by hog rings. Is there someway I can do this saving the ones I remove maybe by flattening them out after bending them with regular pliers but hen putting them back is the problem. Hate to spend money on something I will probally use once by ordering the rings and pliers online.
