I'm not a racer, so I wouldn't know what the records are, but watching those videos sure seems like White Zombie was beating everyone.
Here is a better video that covers more details and shows the car inside.

Thanks everyone for nice words and feedback. ICE is definitely not going anywhere and has plenty of room to improve efficiency. Liquid fuel still has best energy density in both weight and volume, so no doubt ICE will be around for a long time for long hauls, using renewable fuels like diesel and ethanol. But you gotta admit that dense populated cities filled with millions of ICEs commuting less than 50 miles a day while creating so much smog that people can't breathe are perfect places for EVs. You ever seen skyline of NY or LA from few miles away? Its insane, its a death trap... despite all emissions standards.
As for hydrogen, its great once you have it in H2 form ready to burn, but it doesn't exist in this form on Earth, so its not an energy source, but a carrier, which means you have to apply much more energy to extract H2 from water, then burn it in ICE at 25% efficiency, bottom line becomes very very expensive and unsustainable. Sure, Terminator can afford to buy H2 Hummer and build H2 stations using our tax dollars, but it won't scale to majority of population, its a dead end.
