Perhaps I'm going based off of a performance aspect. If you buy cams designed for a certain setup, wouldn't you run that setup? Even Tomei recommends they shouldn't be used with factory HLA's.
Get the Tomei cams, I'm not a fan of BC cams, I've read that most of their cams are a couple degrees off on their centerlines. I've heard of a couple stories about peoples springs breaking on them, but don't have any personal experience with them.
true story, i've had ferreas break on me. portflow's break, crowers break, oem honda and oem nissan break, among others.
valvesprings fatigue over time. i'm running supertech now in my car, they seem to take the most abuse, but even they need to be replaced next year if i don't want to keep the engine a ticking time bomb.
titanium retainers have about a 20,000 mile street life or 1 season race life by the way.
as much as the bc's might be off a degree here or there, they still make absolutely ridiculous power even with stock cam gear timing.
