Yeah, but there 10 times more things going on during a road racing event, and it lasts a hell of a lot longer than 5 seconds.
subjecting yourself to 4+ Gs of cornering force (5 at El Rouge corner, Spa), in multi second bursts over the course of 2 hours is just much more "ultimate" in my opinion.
And no offense to the engineers designing the Top Fuel motors, because they ARE shear works of art, but I'd rather engineer something that'll last at peak power for 2+ hours, not a single pass.
