No amount of replacing wires is going to fix an underpowered system. You may be able to upgrade the ability of that current to flow, thus helping a bit, but in the end if the alternator is underpowered for the task that's it. But if i remember right the amp was 500 watts right? I doubt the amp is shutting down because of that. What do you mean "setting everything on the back all the way up"?
i turned all the knobbies up lol. if i were to upgrade my alternator for say a 12 inch jl w7 with 1000/1 amp what size alternator would i need? is it possible to buy too powerful of an alternator vs what you need?
