Our definitions of a spun bearing are probably totally differant but I dont see how you can spin a rod bearing on basically start up unless something wasnt right using MY definition.
My definition of a spun bearing is when both the tabs have broken off the bearings and the bearing is now "spinning" around freely. Alot of people seem to always assume when they damage a bearing that it automatically means its a spun bearing. I would call that a damaged bearing not a spun bearing

I know your splitting hairs here with the definition but this is how I was always taught how to word what is going on in the bottem end of the motor when I break the bad news to a customer.
Now with that being said....are all the bearing tabs lined up properly on all the rods and mains? Are all the caps with the same rods that they where orginally on? On the mains....did you make sure all the bearings with the oil holes where in the correct spot? Did you ever check end play of the crank after installed?
This list can go on and on, just trying to help.
