Ford does own all the companies that quickcivic said. Problem is when they go from just owning, and get into operating. Like with the new Land Rover, its a damn Ford Escape aka Mazda tribute. They need to stop using the same platforms throughout their companies. Its pretty gay.
This is nothing new...even Mazda did it in the early 70s with the R100 and the pistoned powered one (dont know the name)
Domestic car manufactures has been using "import" platforms since the 70s
