I think its environmentally fine as long as a trained technician handles them and RECYCLES them properly. You do make a point though, if the car was causing more harm to the environment, it would be all over the news and other rival manufacturers would be riding that ass lol.
totally agree 100%. If you think about it, every car that has a battery needs to be replaced every few years or so there are more cars with regular batteries that you purchase at wal-mart, autozone, k-mart, sears etc.. etc.. then there are those prius or similar cars on the road. so I don't see how its more dangerous then a regular vehicle. I believe we throw away/get rid of/recycle more regular car batteries away then the prius and similar cars change theirs.
