Yeah that will work but, if you ever pull the head make sure the person setting the timing knows. I ran a crank pulley missing the key and I set the timing checked it and I was off by a tooth so I did it again after about the 3rd time I was like wtf and found the key was missing and allowing the pulley to move just slightly.
