I have to wait for a warmer day to really look at it, the only time i get to look at it is at night when its cold out. Its probably half old gas burning off and half exhaust heat meeting the cold air outside.
Compression testing seems difficult, everything seems difficult.

No worries man, it's actually quite easy. Just make sure that if you choose to take it to a mechanic, you choose one that knows what they're doing.
