On a similar note, I've never charged anything for shooting cars but I've made countless friends doing it. (Car oriented people are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet IMO.) You have to know whether it's a hobby or a job, I really don't think it can be both. $10/r isn't enough for it to be a job, you're just extending your hobby into something that it shouldn't be.

If you are going to make money as a photographer. MAKE MONEY as a photographer, not chump change.

If you are going to shoot pictures for fun, then shoot pictures FOR FUN.
