Highway robbery in my opinion. I feel bad taking like $25bux when taking photos of friends cars. lol. Like I said, my opinion.
Thats what you feel you are worth. I do not feel bad at all charging $350/hr, my time and my photographs are worth it. When someone hires me they know they are going to get quality images. They know i will arrive early to the event, look and act professionally, and they will receive their images within 48 hours of the event. Period. Thats how it goes. Photography is my job and my livelihood, i know what its worth. But again these are my feelings on the subject. I dont get paid what i get paid because i feel like im ripping people off.
just like anything...
Quality, Professionalism, and Cheap.... You can only pick two.
Photography is my business. Its not a hobby. If you wish it to be your business too, don't treat it as a hobby and vice versa.
Someone once told me, "To become a successful photographer, you first must become a successful business man."
BTW: i would rather shoot a car for free for friends then even bother charging $25. Takes much more time and money to scout a location and setup strobes. If its for friends, its a gift to them from me. That being said it takes alot for me to call someone a friend.
