honestly...it doesnt really sound like a coil/ICM problem. they usually get worse when theyre warm and work when theyre cold. have you check for power at the big blue wire on the dizzy plug? turn the key on and check for power.
also if the fuel pump died it would sputter bad and then stall. and fuel pump can cause intermittant problems, but if you got no spark, thats prolly not it. a fuse going can even cause this, because they dont always just blow, sometimes they flicker the power a lil first. it could even be the ecu. you just gotta eliminate possibilities one by one...starting with checking to see if the dizzy has power to it.
