Its sometimes hard to combat the morons though even when you have the scientific certainty of physics on your side.

On another porsche bbs me and another engineer who actually works for boeing as an aerodynamacist were trying to answer some questions about vehicle aerodynamics and lift.

Despite nailing down the subject, with the other guy going as far as to do computer flow analysis for the question at hand there were people who didn't believe us.

Some posters claimed we were just arrogant engineers who were using arcane and approximate book knowledge to try to back up our argument but since it did not gist with how they thought things worked we were wrong.

It was about as bad as the 'how turbos work' thread that has popped up here a couple times since I have been on the board.
