I second everything The Camel has said. These cars can either be awesome and fun or really put you through hell. Before you considering buying one you should do a good amount of research on the car. Also tell us if the engine has had any rebuilds at all and how long ago was it. If the engine has never been rebuilt and it's on 98K miles then the seals are very, VERY likely to be running low compression and it WILL need a rebuild if that is the case. Also do you know if it is a base or a touring or an R model? Giving us more info would help us put you into the right direction...
Also take into consideration that there aren't many shops around here that do work on rotaries let alone performance... it'll be hard to get stuff done to it.
