I (obviously) agree completely that the cause of the fire needs to be determined before any steps are taken legally. And I haven't jumped to any conclusions (indicated by my choice of words -- see
"might" in aforementioned post).
A prudent person would consider involving an attorney immediately (one with lots of insurance experience, might I add).
