Back then there was STRICT brand loyalty. There were no in betweens. Even amongst the GM crowd,.. because back then Buick Olds Pontiac and Chevy all had their own motors. Not like today where they all have Chevy power. And despite what magazines and people want you to believe. That mighty 426 Hemi,.. wasnt all that. Typically on the street,. the 440 was the Mopar to watch out for,.. and the 67 - 68 Cuda was usually the quickest,.. although my friends older brother had a 383 Road Runner spraying a 200 shot and he was hard to beat,.. that car hooked like it was glued to the road.
Back then the biggest rivalry was the Camaro vs Mustang. There was an unwritten rule that if a Mustang and Camaro met at a light.. green meant floor it. The cops werent as bad back then like they are now either. Some used to come out on their off duty time and watch us.
Today there is so much inner breading in the race crowd I never know what the hell is going on. I usually just come to shoot the shit and hang out.

why cant thing's still be like that now? instead everyone has to see who is the bigger pecker head. i like just sitting and watching races, and looking at what stupid shish people are doing to there ricers now, and who prefers what car. i use to take my 2.3 mustang vert out to gandy but never really got any beef though. i would get alot of complements about how good of condition it was in and then i would sit there and watch some ideot come over the bridge and 5 minutes later the cops are pulling him over. im with hurst, there's to many stupid asses out there now but it doesnt mean it's not fun to watch. i'll see you guy's at the track sooner or later.
