They wanted to go with a "Spec" engine in 2 yrs. to even out the competition. But it's unlikely 'cause Ferrari is already throwing tantrums about the idea. But if that becomes succesful, I won't be suprised if the whole field end up with McLaren engines.
I'm not crazy about a spec engine for F1 but it would reduce costs a bit and allow other teams to compete. I'd rather see them do some things with the aero and ground effects to add more driver skill into the mix.
