Ok, the motor came in two japanese work-horses, the Atlas and the Caravan. The Atlas is not the same full sized truck that Nissan is putting out next year, but a flatbed truck much like the little overhead cabin Mitsubishi-fuso trucks that deliver fridges.
Heres a pic. . .

The other is an 8 passanger minibus that used a similiar chassis as the Atlas.

Now, I'm not sure how well this was translated, but this is what an owner said about his Caravan KA20DE. . .

"It is the engine, KA20DE, but the engine of this series the NISSAN general-purpose engine is ill-smelling."

Im not sure if that is to say "it stinks/sucks etc." or that it has an emission problem, but either way its not too good sounding.

Both these trucks where imported to Austrailia, Europe and Russia, and this is what an Aussy review had to say about the motor.

"Gasoline-engine models offer a choice of two 4-cylinder engines--the 2.4-liter KA24DE engine and the 2.0-liter KA20DE engine. Both engines feature a twin-cam design and electronic control to produce a flat torque characteristic in all speed ranges. Because they generate high torque in the low-speed range in particular, they provide improved driveability even at low vehicle speeds."

Yep, sounds like my 240. high torque, LOW speeds.

and heres the specs:

<KA20DE Petrol Engine> L4DOHC Displacement: 1998cc
Max.Power: 125PS/5600rpm Max.Torque: 17.8kg.m/3200rpm
BorexStroke: 86.0x86.0

The only aftermarket parts I could find was an air filter for both trucks from Mine's of all people. . . .
But finding parts for it i think will be impossible. Allthough the Japanese are totaly crazy when it comes to minivans, I dont think they like making these kinds of vehicles fast, and these two chassis are the only two in Japan that have thse motors.
It would be interesting to wonder if any Japanese have modified thier KA24DE in thier trucks using American aftermarket parts. . . . .

As far as im concerned, I'll stick to dreaming about getting the proper motor in my car, the SR20, cause its depressing enough to know i have a truck motor in my car, let alone a motor from this!
