I like the odd and un-popular combo's as well. I would say to stick w/ the SVO, and get a nice turbo for it. But you really have to save up for it. You will never be able to drift effectivly using a mustang w/ an N/A 4 cyl. or N/A 6 cyl. You will still need the V-8. The 4 or 6 comes in handy when you are going to oval track or road course due to the weight issues.
The only "stupid question" is the one that goes unasked if you honestly don't already know the answer.
Don't get discouraged. You need to figure out what you want and what your goals are. Once you figure that out, you can formulate a plan to achieve it.
