why did you chose a 383 let alone an LT4? whats wrong with a rebuilt 350 bottom end with a LT4 topend? that would get you under a 4k budget and have plenty of power for a broke ass college student. do you already have a block to work with? you are honestly not going to get anything wothwhile in terms of a complete LT4 for 4 grand or less unless a customer backed out on an order and they are desparate to make room. what was wrong with Na306StAnG's motor? it was everything you needed and all you would have to do is swap your intake onto it and done. LT4 style heads will run you no less than $1600 (assembled) then there is the $500+ intake to match them. you are asking way too much from your college student budget. even if the machine work was done for free and you could assemble the motor yourself you would still come out spending over $4k between the heads, intake and an Eagle (one of the cheapest out there) rotating assembly. take the advice from people on here instead of thinking you are being flamed.
