For example, you are completely wrong. The T56 and the Supra's V160 are completely different. The MkIV's 6 speed is the V160 (or V161 if its 97/98 ) and is from Getrag. The MkIII turbo's 5 speed is the R154. The only part where you're almost right is coincidence; the GM AR-5/MA-5 is very similar to the MkIII's R154, but it was Toyota's (or more specifically, Aisin's) design, which is also used in light duty diesel Isuzu applications as well as some Jeeps.

almost coincidentally right in that the older Tacoma, Matrix/Vibe, and older Corolla all were developed as a joint venture between GM and Toyota under NUMMI. Nowadays the only things they share in common are that some Toyotas use GM transmissions and some GMs (such as Cadillac) use Toyota transmissions. Oh, and the Vibe, which is pretty much 90% Toyota.
You may be thinking of the T6060 in the new Vette, Viper, etc., which has nothing to do whatsoever with anything Supra related. Just thought I should throw that in.
