I prefer to do everything myself the first time. Stuff like TGVs are small enough to where, if I mess up, I'm only out a few $100, but it's worth the experience for trying. I agree that welding the holes I wouldnt expect to be done by yourself, but there are other ways to seal it that you could easily do yourself.

Best way to learn about your car is to get your hands dirty. I bet you know alot about how your suspension works from doing it all yourself. I just think it would be a good idea for you to delve into a few other things. Its fun!
