Default Help A/C question, ASAP, its hot here.

Ok, i recently did a motor swap into my EK civic coupe (B18c1). My A/C condensor had a leak in it and the A/C was not working what so ever. So we took it and the compressor and some of the hoses that went along with them. I made sure that the end of the hoses for the A/C system that remained in the car were taped up so no dirt got into them. So now i have the condensor, compressor, and some of the hoses that are attached to the compressor out of the car. I just went in to honda today to have them check it out to be put back in. I know i need a del sol vtec compressor bracket. But honda seems to think that after the system is open and sat for a while the entire system may be ruined? Is this possible. I did tape up the ends of the tubes that remained in the car. Can a compressor go bad because i left it out? Or the hoses that come off of it? Or even the ones remaining in the car? Please help.
