I have the same problem with my FD. It's pretty modded but that isn't the issue. From what I hear, it's the TPS or Throttle Position Sensor. It can cause a bunch of different symptoms including bogged down acceleration, lack of power, stalling and because of the fuel issue involved, even constant backfire. I haven't fixed it yet but what I read tells me that adjusting it, cleaning it, or replacing (being the worst thing) is really all you are looking at.
