The problem is the focus SPI is different than the Escort SPI and the 1997 Escort SPI is different than all other SPI motors(different fuel delivery system). But yes it's still a CVH, thats why the rods are the same length and that's why I'm getting Zetec rods actually. Oh and I know that it's cheaper to dump in a DOHC Zetec, but that would take all the fun out of it. I'm looking to learn something here and do something that is a real challenge the SPI has alot of untapped potential whereas the Zetec is pretty well tapped out for the most part.
