technically the rotor channel in the 26mm calipers (i have them) is near 30mm and the 30mm caliper's rotor channel is closer to 33-34mm. the rotor will fit in the caliper, but if you load it with fresh pads, it won't fit, or will be as if the brakes are applied all the time. i guess you could "mill" the pads down, but then you're just starting out with a shorter lifespan to begin with, unless somehow you could find a pad that already came with a smaller pad face to begin with.
it could come down to playing with the pads on the rotor with it all installed. you could possibly shove it all in there and have the caliper pistons pushed back far enough to let the rotor spin without continued pad pressure, and they'll wear themselves down over time, but i don't know really. i wouldn't do it.
the audi rotor should be fine i think.
i would suggest using mitsubishi 3000gt vr4 rotors with a bracket kit, but those require 17" wheels so that might be out of the range for you.
Heres the page I got the little bit of clearance info from. I used this because he is using the same wheels I am wanting to clear.
RonS's Project R32 brake upgrade
18/05/02 - Plan 2... got a Brembo 4 pot caliper and disc (ex R33 GTR), again from Gary at GTaRt.. sadly the disc is just to big to fit (324mm), I placed the disc inside the wheel (16x8JJ) it gave about 12-15mm clearance so no room for the caliper, needs a 17" wheel, shame I would have loved to have had the Brembo's
So using that info for reference makes me give up on the 324MM rotors from the 350Z. I *think* he still had enough clearance to fit a bigger rotor, just nothing in between the two readily available.
As you said, from what i've seen the VR4 rotors will clear Z32 wheels, and I believe *should* clear the GTR's. The VR4's 314MM rotor makes me think I might just be able to get away with the BMW 316x28, though I suppose the 312x25 wouldnt be a bad idea.
I know i've seen quite a few posts about using 32mm supra rotors with the Z32 calipers, so I figured maybe that 2mm cushion that seems to be there would be the same on the 26mm calipers.
