if you are referring to what CRXSiR posted, it isnt a violation of HIPAA...what he stated is general information anyone in the public has access to. our transmissions are not specially coded for privacy. anyone with a scanner can pick them up. thats why we arent allowed to say names and such over the radio. we get an addy, chief complaint and a little bit of pre-arrival info. any tom dick or jane can go into a radio shack and turn a scanner on and hear tone outs, PD calls, FD calls, and EMS calls all day long. its public domain.
Had he been on scene, and posted a name, description,specifically identifying info, etc. then it'd be another story. i mean hell, pinellas county's website has a call list of active calls in the county that anyone can look at.
