It was an inconvience to me for 22 years. Nobody, NOBODY under the age of 80 EVER gets used to 55 mph.

Under open highway conditions there is a speed that the average person is comfortable driving. "Comfortable" as in staying alert and interested. That speed is typically between 80 and 90. We set it at 70 for the lowest common denominator.

The airlines and government would love 55 since it means more revenue. For the rest of us we would be fucked.
