-Leave the clutch fork off of the throwout bearing, but snap the bearing into the pressure plate fingers before putting the trans on.

-Slide the pin in, bolt the cap on.
It works soooo much easier this way than the snap-in way. Take my word for it next time you do a clutch job.
yeah thats actually how i did it with the whole clutch assembly and throwout bearing together. but i slid the fork onto the bearings fingers before completely shutting the tranny and engine gap so that it was easier to see the fingers to get the fork on. this is my 3rd subaru tranny install and i learn a hellova lot with every install. i think i've got most of the kinks worked out now and it should be a much quicker ordeal next time. thanks for the tips tho bro!
