its different because look at the amount of gas needed for a tourch or oil burning lamp. its a hell of a lot compaired to what your making with a coil of wire and a car battery.

say you have 1 liter of water. that's about 1kilo of water at room temperature. 18 grams per mole, 1kilo has 55.55 moles of water. 55.55moles of H2, 27.2 moles of O2. not an ideal gas, but lets pretend. so V=nrt/P

665.4 Liters of O2
1358.977 liters of H2

of potential in a perfect system from a single liter of water. tote around a few liters on a system that pumps out 30-50 liters an hour to supplement the oxygen in the normal air intake and throwing some H2 in there...the mixture of which burns great at internal combustion temperatures... you cant tell me that it wont give you better milage.
as I said... if you found a good way to convert, say a whole liter of water, compress it, then use it. then yes, you may be able to set up a system to either run your car off from, or add to the fuel you have to help mpg.

but you arnt doint that... I just don't believe you can build someone at home for 20$ stick it in a bottle of water under your hood and get anything usful out of it. do you even understand how much air your motor sucks in per min? just throwing a number out because every motor is different but say 600 cubic feel of air per min. the tiny amount your making, my guess would be a few bubbles per min or less than 1 cfm at say a max of 15amps. which is the most I'd really want to add to my alt for something that's running 100% of the time. just won't do anything.

I'm not saying you guys shouldn't enjoy building it and playing with it. since its cheap. but I don't believe it will help at all.
