Nobody knows about suspension travel in relation to real performance driving here. Slammed with a welded differential might work for drifting but to actually go around a corner, things are much different.
It's getting pretty bad with these cars. Almost as bad as the cut springs on Hondas back around 8 years ago. Form over function...the motto of ricers everywhere.
Actually, I do know about suspension travel, and I don't drift. I used to, still do on occasion, but for the most part, I am into road racing/auto-x/whatever. My car is slammed, but with the alignment that I have on their, it handles amazing. By your logic, JGTC cars, or NASCAR cars would all handle better if they were to be raised up a few inches? It's all in how each particular person prefers their individual car to be set up in accordance to that persons driving style.
I'm not trying to be defensive or anything like that, but any argument you can come up with, will always have a counter-argument. My car handles perfect for my driving style, and it takes corners with ease, all while being pretty slammed.
Not really sure where I am going with this, cause I am super tired, but it makes sense in my head.
