Matter fact I kind of take back what I said. I remember I had an 86" Corolla SR5 that I got for $1500 and man did that last. I owned it for quite a while until the carbarator (I know I spelled it wrong) went on me and that was like a $400 fix. So yeah....the old Corollas are extremely reliable if you find one.
Got mine for less than 1/3 of that and the only thing I've had to replace is a starter bolt, a headlight, and a taillight bulb, for a combined repair cost of about $10-12. Had it for about a year and a half. It's slow as balls, and frankly, I wish more people on the road had to drive as slow as I do.
