Help me and I'll buy your a 6 pack.
For those of you that read my last thread, my car was blowing the ignition switch fuse left and right. I narrowed it down to the wire that goes to the inhibitor switch, and then to the starter. I had to get back to Gainesville ASAP so rather than hunting for how that's all wired up I ran a new wire from my starter straight to the push button I have for my starter (lock cylinder assembly doesn't really turn the switch all the way and it was cheaper and easier to buy a button for $5 rather than shell out $180 for a whole new assembly). With the new wire run, I cut the wire on the ignition switch, eliminating that whole loop...my understanding from the FSM is it goes:
Ignition Switch > Inhibitor Switch > Starter
I don't know what was done with the wires when my SR and 5spd swap were done, but I do know the car worked after I ran the new wire. I drove around the Clearwater area for quite a while, running errands and stuff before leaving for Gville late Friday night. I drove back and used the car all day yesterday (Saturday) without a hitch. This morning I'm on my way to work and made it about 2 buildings away from my apartment in my complex before it popped the same fuse.
Now I'm back to square one. What the deuce? I was so pissed I just jumped the fuseable link with a heavy gauge wire, set my alarm, and got a ride to work.
Oh and when the IGN SW is jumped and I turn the key to ON the EGI (ECCS) relay buzzes.
This car is dead to me.
