thanks for all the replies guyz. like egkid says, it's not so much a problem, just wondering if others' have had a similar experience or not. It doesn't bother me that much when i do run it hard as it is relateively subtle and goes away quickly. What Demoncivic said is waht i figured happened, just extra air from the rear being aspirated...

Consider myself a perfectionists and so I always want the best, including for my car. but i'm slowly coming to the realization that a 16 year old car is not going to be the same as a couple months old car in terms of road noise, smells etc...
