and the point of a plastic tank is to never have to worry about rust or any problem again, as long as the gasket for the sending unit does not go bad, there wont be a problem, water in gas will rust the tank, it will take time but it will surely rust.
if you have a radiator place do it, talk to the about anti corrosive... They have a liner(like robber grips on pliers) That keeps the metal from getting oxidized. And you will still be far less $$ than a new tank or a plastic replacement.
