Default Hey Oldman.. PT II... 56K Death

Today, I learned to walk it out...

Ok, so not exactly what you think.. but I will go into detail in a few... but first.. here are some pics... and in order of the night... Oh and yeah, I now have a grand total of just over 6 hours of GTAW ( TIG ) under my belt..

I welded to pieces together to make a T.... (well more of a leaning "t".. LOL... )

First one, free hand... (start of the day.. and start of hour #3) You can clearly see it didn't tie in, on half of the piece and very inconsistent...

Welded up two more of these just like it.. and they turned out about the same.. so I asked for a little insight as to what I was doing wrong.. and what I was doing right.. My instructor showed me a few things.. and basically said I was not doing so good... in which I agreed... but wanted to know where to go from there... in which he showed me how to walk it out!!!!!!! Ok, so not really walk it out.. but "Cup Walk" in which it is a TIG techinque... so here are the following "T's"..

First "T" after... (showing the 3 different beads and layers/levels)

Other side of same "T"... ( 3 Layers also, but hard to see )

And here is the last two beads I ran right before cleaning up for the night.. ( 6th Hr. ) Had about 4 or 5 inches of filler rod left... and the short one was about and inch and half which is why it is so short.. I could not hold the rod anymore and weld it...

As always, input, criticism, comments and jokes are welcome...
